GETTING TO GOLDEN OAK

Plan the drive.
Keep the day easy.

Travelling from Bengaluru or Mysuru? Set your destination to Golden Oak Resorts on Charity Road, Old Vythiri, and check the route for your departure date. Before leaving, confirm the resort pin with our team so you arrive at the right property.

Before you leave

Check current road conditions and any restrictions along the route suggested by your map. Allow time for breaks and avoid planning your arrival around a fixed driving-time estimate.

On arrival day

Share your expected arrival time with the resort. Check your confirmation for check-in arrangements; early arrival needs advance agreement. Keep your booking reference and photo identification ready.

For a two-day visit

Keep arrival day for settling in and time at the resort. Use the next day for a few nearby stops from the guide below, leaving time to return between outings. Check attraction access before setting off.

ONE DAY AROUND VYTHIRI

Stay nearby.
Leave some room.

For a first day in Wayanad, choose a few places close to Golden Oak and leave time between them. Here is a suggested outing you can shorten, reorder or save for another day.

  1. Start with the lake

Pookode Lake · approximately 3.6 km from Golden Oak

Leave the morning for Pookode rather than heading straight into a long drive. Take in the wooded shores, and check the current boating options at the entrance.

  2. Keep the afternoon nearby

Wayanad Honey Museum · approximately 650 m from Golden Oak

After a break for lunch, visit the Honey Museum in Old Vythiri. Its honey-processing displays and Kerala heritage section make this a different kind of stop from the lake.

  3. An optional hill-road finish

Lakkidi View Point & Churam · approximately 6.2 km from Golden Oak

If visibility and road conditions are good, add Lakkidi to your outing. On a wet or misty day, keep the plan shorter; there is no need to make the drive just to complete a checklist.

Distances are approximate road distances from the resort, not between these stops. This is an outing suggestion, not an included tour. Check opening times, entry charges and current access before leaving; rain can change your plans.
